We never thought that we would be starting out a newsletter by talking about a pandemic but here we are. While stuck at home, why not try your hand at some new quilting techniques? The flowers are starting to bloom which means that spring is here! Just in time for spring we are pleased to introduce you to Jinny’s brand new Impressions fabric collection, be sure to watch the video included in this month’s newsletter. We also bring you the 1st installment of Jinny’s border print lesson videos.
This month we reintroduce you to some oldies but goodies in our quilt kit collection. Jinny’s instructional videos for past block of the month quilts, Kyoto and Stellaris are now available for free on our YouTube channel. The ever popular Stained Glass Star is a great quilt to try your hand at some new techniques.
Welcome to a new year! What are your new year’s resolutions? Start a quilt? Learn to quilt? Learn new skills? We are here to help! Starting this month, we have released some bright beautiful new color in the Denim collection. In addition, we will be giving lessons on border prints throughout the year, we hope you will follow along with us.
The end of the year is always so much fun and the holidays are in full swing. The Studio is decorated with holiday stockings and we have lots of projects for all types of sewers…as well as gifts for family and friends. Jinny has some upcoming trips that she introduces in this newsletter along with a video tip on applying borders to quilts.
This month we shared the newest Malam batik collection. The seventh in the Malam series, this collection includes a full spectrum of colors in all new patterns. We are also excited to showcase a new quilt design called Seville. Utilizing fabrics from the Andalucia collection, this quilt is designed for all types of quilters.
October is always such a busy yet fun month with Quilters’ Quest and Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. This month, we are excited to introduce a new collection that is quite different than the rest, Andalucía. Click to learn more and watch a video about the inspiration behind this stunning collection.
The Fall is always such a great time of year as we begin to plan for our big shop events. At the end of September we have our Anniversary sale – in shop and online. In October we are having our Quilters’ Quest with this year’s theme being books. We hope to see you real soon.
It may be hot outside but we have lots of fun projects this month for you to work on inside in the cool air conditioning! Two classics have been reintroduced in a variety of color ways, a new bundle is available that has endless possibilities and of course if you are working on the technique of the month, Stellaris, lesson #5 is ready to view.
We are so excited to share with you this month a project that has been in the works. Jinny recently collaborated with Judy and Judel Niemeyer on their redesign of the gorgeous Flowers for My Wedding Ring quilt. We have some new classes in the shop this summer so we hope that you can stop by to see all that is new.
Having just returned home from a nice visit with her family, Jinny is busy at the shop preparing for all the travelers this summer that will be stopping by the shop for Row by Row 2019. It’s Christmas in June as Aruba holiday has arrived meaning kits for Stellaris in this colorway are also now available for purchase. It’s not too late to sign up for the monthly newsletter to receive access to this free monthly technique quilt along.
May is always a busy month around the shop as we prepare for the Row by Row shop hop and begin preparations for Quilters’ Quest in the fall. Check out this month’s newsletter to find out what “spindle strips” are and also download a free pattern and watch a tutorial on my Harlequin Charm quilt.
This month we are so excited to launch the first technique lesson and video for Stellaris, available FREE to all monthly newsletter subscribers. We are also now carrying a brand new book entitled, American Cotton: Farm to Quilt, which tells the story of cotton in America and the fiber’s role in quiltmaking.
Filming has begun for the new Technique of the Month quilt, Stellaris, check out this newsletter to watch a preview of what is to come. Kits are available in most colors starting this month so you can quilt along with Jinny starting next month. Be sure to sign up for the monthly newsletter so you will receive the monthly patterns and coordinating videos.
This month we are ready for sunshine and warm weather with the release of the Aruba fabric collection. In addition, you can make the Aruba tote which is the perfect size for carrying all your essentials with your retreat on the beach. Sounds like fun to us!
We start the new year off with color – a new quilt using Palette Pixies – Toast and Jam – yummy and some fun web specials to keep you busy in the winter months! If you are not signed up for the monthly newsletter, be sure to do so as the 2019 Technique of the Month, Stellaris starts in April, you don’t want to miss out!
As the year comes to a close, we are thankful for all of our wonderful customers. Congratulations to those of you who participated in the Kyoto Mystery BOM this year, we hope you are happy with your finished quilt. We look forward to seeing what everyone does with our 2019 BOM, Stellaris.
November is such a busy but fun time of year with the Annual Quilt Market and the tail end of our Quilters’ Quest, I hope you were able to join us. This month we also introduced a beautiful new table runner, Pinata which utilizes batiks from the Malam VI collection. And 2018 Row by Row kits are now available for purchase online.
Fall is always such a glorious time around the shop as we prepare for our annual Shop Hop and the leaves are falling, you just want to create! This month we bring you a new quilt that uses Malam batiks and offer a product to help gain perspective on your quilt layouts.
We are so excited to bring the newest collection, Denim to you – it’s 100% quilting cotton – but it looks like real denim! In addition, the spectacular coordinating quilt, Denim Star is a true show stopper. We have new classes being offered at the shop, so we hope to see you there!
August brings us the beautiful Malam VI collection, full of lights and brights that coordinate beautifully with the other five Malam collections. An oldie but goodie, Crystal Star has been updated with new colors and is now available for purchase as a kit. If you are following along with the block of the month, Kyoto Mystery, we are already up to clue #5.
Palette Pizazz is brand new and brings tons of color to any room, a great summertime project! We just love Pixies here at the shop and are excited to share that we carry them in many different varieties, be sure to check them out on our website. And finally we are pleased to share our coordinating quilt to our Row by Row this year.
June is always a fun month as we have visitors from around the globe participating in the Row by Row Experience. This year we got to include some new shapes and layouts of the Row. We also introduced the new Midnight Garden Table Runner, a real stunner!
May is always a colorful month and it does not stop this year with the launch of Jinny’s Midnight Garden fabric collection. We also are loving the new Wooly Felted Ironing Mats which are spectacular for pressing blocks and seams.
