We discovered these American-made, 100% wool ironing mats at Fall Market and once Jinny gave one a try, she loved it for pressing blocks and seams. And for all you knitters out there, it is great for blocking knitting projects as well.
The mats are ½” thick and dense. They absorb the heat essentially pressing both sides at once, yet the heat and steam do not transfer to the surface below. The surface grips fabrics so they do not shift as you press them. The corners are rounded to reduce wear and tear.
