Thank You

Photo of our family in Costa Rica celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary.

I want to thank all of you so much for your heartfelt wishes and condolences on the passing of my husband, John. I know many of you have faced similar circumstances and understand how our family is feeling. We were married for 58 years and had many wonderful adventures during our lifetime together. We have lived in several foreign countries, traveled extensively to other places around the world. I will miss him dearly but I’m very grateful for all the support from my family and so many of you from around the world.

Needless to say, with all that has been going on I have not been able to keep up with my blogs, or tell you about our special events that will be happening this year. Be sure to check our monthly newsletter for the first part of our border print series…Border Print Squares… Each month we will show a video with a different way to enhance your quilts using border print fabrics. And this week for our web special, to get you started, we have border print bundles on sale.

  23. Jinny, you are in my heart and prayers. The thing about great love, especially one experienced over 60 years, is that the partnership you built in many ways is life defining. Your exquisite textile work, in all its facets — teaching, sharing, designing — will be a great comfort. Those strengths are in you, with you always and will guide you to find peace and to flourish. Each time you create beauty, or help others to do the same, you are building spiritual strength that honours your love and the life you have made.
    Kindest regards,
    Kathy from Canada

  26. Jinny,
I will keep you and yours in my prayers. Loss of loved ones is never easy, even when expected. May your faith, family and friends provide you with comfort.
The road ahead is a long one but you will not be alone in it.
Quilting provided me with solitude and comfort and I’m sure it will do the same for you. Hope to visit your wonderful shop again soon. Blessing to you and yours.

  27. Jinny,
Sorry for the loss of your husband/partner and best friend of 58 years. My mother recently passed and it was difficult to watch Dad lose his best friend of 63 years. Her struggle with dementia is over. Knowing she was strong in her faith and seeing the many people she reached through her quilt shop, teaching classes, etc. was inspiring/encouraging. She was my sewing partner, and it felt good to get back to sewing again. She’d want me to keep creating. A lady whose husband was ill (and the passed) was still involved in her community work told me, “I have to keep some normalcy to help me get through this.” I hope you find comfort in knowing you have friends and family who support you. Our paths are similar. Prayers. Stay healthy.

  28. Dear Jinny,
I am saddened to read about the passing of your husband. May your memories make you smile. Hope you can find solace keeping busy in your garden, mundane weeding is great for this! Some day you will feel like creating again, I promise. Big hugs across the miles. Sue

  29. Dear Jinny, my heart goes out to you. What a blessing to have John for 58 wonderful years plus.
Your Moon Glow has been my favorite for years & was working on one when I heard about your loss.
The one I made my mom is now mine as she has gone to be with the Lord. May God’s blessing be upon you.. ( also used your material for a beautiful biblical block quilt I made . Used a border print in all my blocks and border.) Suzy

  30. Jinny, I met you when you taught at a Jim West trip to Costa Rica several years ago. I was so sorry to learn of your loss of your husband. Your gentle spirit in the class was so warm and I sensed your personal life was the foundation of your life expressed to us as you taught. I still draw on your ideas about color and design, the value of handwork, and your expressions of delight as you explored beyond your own past experiences . Although you no longer have your husband at your side I know you will be able to feel his presence when you call upon it. My deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your entire family. May your life continue to be filled with blessings knowing that love is with you always.

  31. Jinny,
My sympathies on the loss of John. Hold onto those photos that bring back precious memories.
I have visited your shop, made your quilts, bought your fabric and kits, appreciate your great talents, and plans to make “Outback” are at the top of my list.
Good luck with your business changes and online plans.
