Reflections

When I received this photo of my grandson holding up his stuffed toy, I didn’t know whether to cry or to be proud of his sewing skills and ingenuity. It is a sad commentary that our children have resorted to making masks to protect their favorite stuffed animals.

Who would have thought a year ago that the world would have been turned so upside-down? All of us have been affected by the Covid-19 virus in one way or another and I want to send my deepest sympathies to all of you who have lost loved ones or are having hardships because of this pandemic.

I want to also take this opportunity to thank all of you for the kind comments you made about my decision to close the JINNY BEYER STUDIO retail shop. So many of you sent such heartfelt messages about your visits to the shop over the years and how much you will miss it. I will miss it, too, mostly because of all the wonderful people I have met over the years. But we are still here.

Thanks to my excellent staff and all of their efforts, our move to our new mail order space went smoothly.  We continue to do “curbside” pickup for anyone who places an on-line order and prefers to pick it up in person.

When it is safe to travel again I look forward to seeing many of you on one of the Craftours trips I currently have scheduled for Greece, Uzbekistan and Kenya.

Remember when those of us in cold climates looked forward to “snow days” where we couldn’t go out and would have the day to do whatever we wanted? I would usually start a new project. This is a lot of snow days.

Please stay safe and start a new project. It will be good for your soul.

  1. Jinny ,
I will always cherish the time that I was fortunate to have with you and the staff at the studio. The Jinny Beyer monthly club meetings were always filled with laughter, friendship, encouragement and fun. Your classes were amazing whether taught by you or one of the staff. I only wish that I had discovered you sooner. Thank you for all you have given me over the years.

  2. Jinny, I wish I had discovered the studio was so close to my house sooner. Then I could have experienced more years of knowing you and your wonderful staff I also would have had more time in club where we laughed, learned, made friends, and had fun. Club was the highlight of my month. Still I am so very fortunate to have had the time that I did and for that I thank you.

  3. Jinny we have never met in person but by far you are my husbands favorite designer . We saw you on tv with Alex Anderson one morning and I was hooked on your border print piecing as was he . The first quilt i made of your method and fabrics has wear and been replaced by another of your fabric made into lovely designs So much fun to do One a cruise that took us to Corinth Greece I saw a mosaic on a wall now once a floor that so much resembles your Millennium Quilt. Since seeing have wondered if it was your inspiration . Thank you so very much for all your inspiration and sharing over the years I have all your books and tools .They sure make life easier then in the days of our ancestors

  6. Dear Jinny,
It was always on my dream list to visit your shop but was happy for you when you made the decision to downsize a little.
You have always been an inspiration for me not only with quilting but how you live your life. Even making bread. 🙂
Hope your daughter and her family continue to stay safe. Glen

  9. Dear Jinny,

When I stopped by your shop a few days ago, I missed you and your staff. However, I was fortunate enough to meet your son, Shawn. He was very friendly and cordial and told me the move was going well. No matter how your business is set up, you are sure to continue attracting a large following.
    With all the best,
    Clara Sue

  10. Dear Jinny,
I was only able to visit your store once when we visited family. I enjoyed my brush with greatness at that time and continue to recommend your Perfect Piecer to my students.
    Thank you,
    Jaye
